It's a Girl!

No, we're not having another baby. On Thursday Michelle Walker and I threw a baby shower for one of my best friends, Lindsi Gabler. It was a lot of fun. I took the girls with me because they all love her and her husband James. Addi was pretty confused though, she kept asking if we were going to get in with her. I think she was picturing us all taking a shower together. Even today at church when she saw Michelle she said, "That's where we took the baby shower." Addi loved all the cute clothes Lindsi got for her baby. At one point she said, "Mom, Lindsi's baby is so beautiful." Lindsi also got an adorable tutu. Addi loved it. I looked at it and realized I could make it, so on Friday I went and got the materials and made her one. It turned out so cute and she loves it! Anyways, the shower turned out great. I'm so excited for James and Lindsi, they've been trying for so long and they're going to be awesome parents. Can't wait to meet you, Brooklyn Joetta Gabler!

Oakley turns 5

Oakley's 5th birthday was on Tuesday. I can't believe he'll be starting kindergarten in the fall. It'll be really weird to only have Addi home during the day. On Monday night the kids helped me make cute puppy pawprint cupcakes for his birthday party on Tuesday. I love summer birthdays. After we opened presents and had cupcakes and juice I sent all the kids outside to play. We had two small swimming pools, a sprinkler, and water guns for the kids to play with. They all had a blast and I didn't have to do anything except fill up water guns. Jensen was awesome and played with the kids the whole time so I didn't have to worry about them. Noelle and Maxon even dared to show up. Noelle is a trooper. Maxon just wanted to eat though. First it was a cupcake but once that was gone he started eating dirt. He wasn't too excited about the water. Oakley had so much fun. His favorite presents were a Butterfly Treehouse and a Bug Vacuum. He told me today we need to get a book about bugs. It seems to be his latest obsession.

CUPCAKES, YUM!

A day at the zoo

On Monday I took Alexi, Jensen, Oakley, and Addi to the Hogle Zoo. Kolton thinks he's too old to go to the zoo and wouldn't go with us. Noelle and Maxon went with us though along with the Corrigans (Noele, Riley, Gabe, Ethan, Truman, and Claire). I think that might be the last time Noelle goes anywhere with us however. It was a LONG, HOT day. With 10 kids it took us forever to make it through the entire zoo. Poor Maxon didn't get a nap until we were in the car on the way home. He was a super good sport though and occasionally I think he even noticed some of the animals. The other kids had a lot of fun. Oakley and Addi especially loved it. They're the perfect ages for the zoo. On the way home we went to Maggie Moo's for ice cream. The only problem was that we had a hard time finding it which only added onto our already LONG day. Luckily it was really good ice cream and worth the drive once we got there.

Summer sports

Jensen played softball again this summer. She is definitely our athlete. She seems to be a natural at everything she does. This season was not nearly as much fun as last year however. Last year her team went to state softball undefeated. They lost two games at state but still took 3rd place. This year they ended up only winning three games and one of those was by forfeit because the other team didn't have enough players show up. They did win their last game though and they played AWESOME! I really wish they could have played that well all season and they would have won a lot more games. It was fun to end the season with a win though.

Oakley also got to play baseball for the first time this summer. Actually he played Rookie ball. The first four times they did different drills teaching how to hit, catch, and field the ball. The last four times they had t-ball games. It was pretty funny to watch because most of they didn't have a clue what to do when. They had to be told to run to first base after they hit the ball and where to throw the ball when they were outfield. He had a lot of fun playing though and can't wait for next year.

Kolton's 15th Birthday

Today was Kolton's 15th birthday. Where did the time go! I know I'm not old enough to have a teenager but somehow I do. Anyways, Grandpa and Grandma Lyman helped us buy him an electric guitar and amp for his birthday. I hope our ears don't regret it!

We've joined the world of blogging!

Okay, we've officially done it. We finally joined the world of blogging. I say we but we all know that I will be doing most of the posting. You never know though, Matt might get a wild hair every once in a while and want to share. Anyways, check back often and hopefully we'll remember to add all the exciting and wonderful things that happen!
