Easter and Spring Break in Blanding

So we loaded up the suburban and headed down to Blanding for Easter. We usually go to Recapture Pockets the Saturday before Easter to picnic and hunt Easter eggs but since it was cold and rainy we went to the church instead. A lot of my mom's side and my dad's side of the family were there. It was great to see everyone and visit for awhile.

Of course we had tons of good food.

Gotta love Carter's plate of chips with a side of . . . chips:)

After everyone's bellies were full some of the Easter Bunny's helpers headed outside to hide some eggs.

Even though it was freezing cold the kids still had a great time finding the eggs.

The week after Easter was the kid's Spring Break so Matt and Kolton headed back to Payson to work and left the other kids and I in Blanding to spend the week.
Oakley, Logan, and Addi relaxing on the porch swing.

Trent and Noelle went to Cancun for the week and left Maxon and Scout at Grandma's for the week also.

Lexi loves Scout and is such a great babysitter.

Maxon and Jensen became best buddies.

Last week Grandma called to say that Ellie had puppies. She had four, 3 boys and 1 girl. The funny thing was that the next morning there were five. She had another boy during the night. Unfortunately the fifth puppy was a tiny one and he died:(

If anyone wants a puppy (Stephanie, ;) ;) let me know, they'll be ready in about 7 weeks:)

We're still in Blanding and will be until Sunday so stay tuned for more exciting posts!

Visitors from Montana

Matt's Uncle Gary and Aunt Sandee along with their boys, Conner, and Hunter and their "adopted" daughter Stephanie came down from Whitefish, MT for General Conference and Spring Break. Their other son Shawn is attending BYU so we spent a lot of time with him at our house also. We had a great time with them.

On Tuesday Matt, Lexi, and Jensen took them down to Moab to do some four-wheeling. My dad met them there to spend the day with them. They all had a great time but were all a little sunburned and totally exhausted by the time they got home.

On Wednesday night we all went to Jump On It together. It was a blast! Wall to wall trampolines.
There were also blow up slides which Addi and Oakley had to try out.

Even mom had fun.

Trampoline basketball got a little ugly.

Jensen wasn't feeling well and ended up being a spectator for most of the evening:(

If you've never been there go try it out! I couldn't believe how hard I was breathing, sweating, and my heart was pumping.
We all loved having the Watteruds visit and hope they'll come again soon!

Family time

On the last weekend in March we had a lot of great family time. On Saturday all the girls w/ Jeremy as a proxy for Heather came to our house for our Food Storage Saturday. I did a gardening class (not because I've ever grown anything besides weeds, but Matt and I had just finished taking a gardening class and I was trying to share what I'd learned. I guess we'll see if we actually learned anything at the end of the summer:).

Maxon enjoyed trying out the pull-up bar.

After the gardening class we had a family dinner at our house.

Yummy treats!

That night Addi had her first dance program. They did The Wizard of Oz. Her class were scarecrows. She was so adorable!

Grandpa and Grandma Lyman, Trent, Noelle, Maxon, Scout, and Livvy all came with us to watch Addi.

Here's a video of her dance. She's the second from the end on the right side. She did so good! I was so proud of her.

Livvy brought a flower to give her after the dance program. Addi loved it!

The next evening (Sunday) we all met at Deco and Kera's house for dinner. We had a lot of fun seeing everybody so much over the weekend.

Field trips with Oakley

Well, it's the end of the school year which means Field Trip time! I was asked to chaperon two field trips for Oakley's kindergarten class. The first one was in March and we went to the Living Aquarium in Salt Lake City. Addi got to go with us and we all had a good time.

Then last week we went to the Children's Museum at the Gateway in Salt Lake. Since Addi had preschool she didn't go with us this time.
All the kids were given red vests to wear so we could keep our school together. The place was packed with several other schools there for field trips.

It was all hands-on activities. The kids loved it.

Oakley riding a horse, luckily he didn't get bucked off :). I enjoyed spending the day with Oakley but after two kindergarten field trips I have no doubt I made a good choice in never becoming a kindergarten teacher.

Girl's night at Noelle's

In February Trent invited all of the men to go to an Ultimate Fighting event in Salt Lake. Since none of the girls were invited (and let me tell you we were bitter about it, NOT) Noelle decided to host a girl's night at her house.

We had good food.

Even better Goodies!

We made bath salts and a foot scrub.

Even Maxon had a good time.

Heather was a good mommy and brought her kids to join in the fun. I left mine at home, not very nice I know, but I needed a break.
